The remaining parts of this study are organized as follows: In Chapter Two we will present the methodology which includes the type of data used, their sources, quality and the techniques employed in analyzing the data. In the next chapter (Chapter 'Ihree) historical gro'I1th of population in Nepal will be presented. This is followed by a discussion on the behaviour of the components of population growth in Chapter Four. Chapter Five then presents the patterns of population gro'I1th in Nepal by regions and districts. Subsequently, in Chapter Six, an attempt is made to examine the patterns of population growth by levels of agricultural development. Similarly, Chapter Seven examines the patterns of urban population growth and
11 Chapter Eight examines the patterns of population growth by levels of socio-economic development. Finally, in Chapter Nine, a summary of the major findings of the study and their policy implications are presented. The relevance of the findings with demo-· graphic theory is also mentioned.
