with that of 1971-81, Eastern Hill has been experiencing
low to moderate growth as compared to
moderate growth of Central and Western Hill.
Inner Terai has experienced a very rapid
growth in population especially after 1960s. Wi thin
Inner Terai region Western Inner Terai bas experienced
fastest growth in population during the same
period. It should also be noted that among all the
sub-regions Western Inner Terai region is also the
second fastest growing sub-region during the entire
period. The population growth among the three subregions
of Inner Terai varies appreciably. specially
during 1961-71.
However, the variations have
declined in the subsequent period. It is also
interesting to note that the growth rate 1n the
region increased from Eastern to Western Inner Terai.
During the whole period. population growth of Eastern
Inner Terai has been frem low to highl aDd. in the
case of Central and Western Inner Terai the growth
rate can be considered as high and very high,
respectively.
