THE GRADING SYSTEM<br />

Grading Scale<br />

Students receive report cards twice a year, at the end of each semester. Progress reports<br />

are available mid-semester to all students experiencing academic difficulty. Cumulative<br />

Grade Point Averages (GPA) are computed at the end of the 5th and 6th semesters (Grade<br />

11), and re-calculated after the 7th and 8th semesters (Grade 12). GPAs are based upon<br />

weighted grades and are computed using grades earned at ISM during the 11 th and 12 th<br />

grades.<br />

The original grade appears on the report card; the weighting is calculated in the<br />

computation of cumulative GPA only. Advanced courses (IB and AP) are indicated on the<br />

official transcript. The scale below indicates the corresponding letter grade, percentage<br />

and grade points, without the weighting, for the High <strong>School</strong>:<br />
