IB Economics H1 and H2 Grade 11, 12<br />
Pre-requisite for H1: Teacher recommendation and enrollment in Math Studies or equivalent<br />
2 years, 1 credit per year<br />
The course is designed to introduce basic economic concepts and theories. Topics covered<br />
include: choice under conditions of scarcity; resource allocation in a market economy,<br />
including supply and demand, and basic elasticity; market structures; and market failures.<br />
The second year of this course is designed to prepare the student for the IB external<br />
examination. Topics covered include: national income analysis, unemployment, inflation,<br />
macro-economic policies, economic development, international trade, balance of<br />
payments, determination of exchange rates and international institutions. There is an<br />
internal assessment/guided coursework component. All students will be expected to take<br />
the IB examination at the end of the course.<br />
IB History S1 and S2 Grade 11, 12<br />

IB Standard History is a two-year course that explores 20 th century history. Topics<br />
investigated include: the causes practices and effects of war and the Cold War with a focus<br />
on Communism in Crisis - 1976-1989. There is an internal assessment/guided coursework<br />
component that may be completed in the first year of the course. The second year of this<br />
course is designed to prepare the student for the IB examination. All students will be<br />
expected to take the IB examination.<br />
IB History (Europe and Middle East) H1 and H2 Grade 11, 12<br />

IB European History is a two-year course that explores the history of Europe and the Middle<br />
East through both the late 19 th century and the 20 th century. Topics investigated may range<br />
from the world wars and the domestic histories of various European countries, to the Arab-<br />
Israeli Conflict and the Cold War. There is an internal assessment/guided coursework<br />
component which is completed in the first year of the course. The second year of this<br />
course is designed to prepare the student for the IB examination. All students will be<br />
expected to take the IB examination.<br />

Geography is a dynamic subject that is firmly grounded in the real world and focuses on the<br />
interactions between individuals, societies and the physical environment in both time and<br />
space. It seeks to identify trends and patterns in these interactions and examines the<br />
