all the turret extrusions have been checked. If no cups are present the “Out of<br />

Cups Please Insert Mug” message is displayed on the LCD.<br />

5. The cup stack index motor is protected by a time-out feature. The motor will<br />

rotate for a maximum period of 60 seconds. If at the end of this period no cups<br />

have been detected the LCD will display the “Out of Cups” message.<br />

N.B. An illustration showing the parts breakdown for the Cup Drop Unit is<br />

included in Section 12 - page 151.<br />

7.8 Waste Level Probes<br />

1. The waste level probes, positioned in the waste bucket, detect the water level in<br />

the bucket.<br />

2. The system consists of two probes in a moulded body. When the water level is<br />

high enough that both of the probes are immersed in the water a message is<br />

displayed on the LCD indicating the waste bucket is full and the machine is<br />

disabled. The machine will remain in this state until the waste bucket has been<br />

emptied.<br />

7.9 Brewer Unit - (Freshbrew Models)<br />

1. Machines may be fitted with either a single, paper fed type brewer suitable for<br />

providing either freshbrew tea or fresh filter coffee or a dual brewer unit which<br />

provides both freshly brewed tea and filter coffee. The coffee and tea ingredients<br />

are dispensed into the brewer unit via separate canisters.<br />

2. A 24v DC, 3.5 RPM motor, controlled by an index cam fitted to the drive shaft,<br />

operates the brewer unit. The cam operates a switch which sends a logic signal<br />

to the controller when the brewer is in the correct position. The brewer motor<br />

will timeout after 60 secs if the home switch is not seen.<br />

1. Water and coffee grounds are dispensed into the brewer top chamber and onto<br />

a filter mesh. The motor drives the piston up and mixes the ingredient and water.<br />

2. The motor drives the piston down and the resulting vacuum pulls filtered coffee<br />

through the filter mesh. As the piston passes the outlet adaptor, coffee flows to<br />

the dispense head. The piston remains in this position for a set time to allow the<br />

vend to drain away.<br />

N.B. There are 4 programmable delay positions which can be set via the<br />
