Christian Related Vocations Program<br />

205. Education and Youth Ministries. A study <strong>of</strong><br />

the educational tasks and patterns <strong>of</strong> organization in<br />

contemporary churches with special emphasis on the<br />

religious thinking and development <strong>of</strong> youth.<br />

Prerequisites: REL 110 and GEN 101. Elective credit<br />

only. (Formerly CRV 205H.)<br />

206. World Missions. A study <strong>of</strong> the theology<br />

and practice in the Christian world mission with<br />

emphasis on the success and failure <strong>of</strong> the Christian<br />

missionary when confronting various world cultures<br />

and religions. Elective credit only. (Formerly<br />

CRV 205A.)<br />

207. Missions and Evangelism in the U.S. <strong>Study</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> missions and evangelism in the U.S. with special<br />

emphasis on the work <strong>of</strong> the Baptists. Elective credit<br />

only. (Formerly CRV 205B.)<br />

208. Preaching and Worship Leadership. Since<br />

worship and proclamation are hallmarks <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Christian faith, this course is provided to acquaint<br />

students with the skills necessary for effective leadership<br />

in these areas. Public prayer, scripture reading,<br />

devotions and sermons will be covered. Organizing<br />

and implementing worship experiences will be highlighted<br />

with opportunities provided for practical<br />

implementations <strong>of</strong> skills learned. Prerequisites: REL<br />

110 and GEN 101. Elective credit only. (Formerly<br />

209. Preparation for Marriage. This course prepares<br />

students for being good marriage partners<br />

through a study that includes but is not limited to<br />

the following topics: identifying a good marriage<br />

partner for yourself, realistic expectations for marriage,<br />

family <strong>of</strong> origin impact, personality impact<br />

on relationship, faith as the strengthening part <strong>of</strong><br />

marriage, and resolving conflict in marriage.<br />

210. Women in Ministry. A study <strong>of</strong> the biblical<br />

and contemporary viewpoints concerning the roles<br />

<strong>of</strong> women in the church. Elective credit only.<br />

211: Pastoral Care. A study <strong>of</strong> the foundations and<br />

dynamics <strong>of</strong> pastoral care in the personal and corporate<br />

crises faced by individual members <strong>of</strong> society.<br />
