Unit Summary<br />

Transcribe accurate <strong>and</strong> correct text <strong>in</strong> an agreed format from an audio record<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

You will:<br />

1 Agree the purpose, format, quality st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>and</strong> deadl<strong>in</strong>es for the transcription.<br />

2 Input the text from the audio record<strong>in</strong>g at a m<strong>in</strong>imum speed of 60 words per m<strong>in</strong>ute.<br />

3 Format the text, mak<strong>in</strong>g efficient use of the technology available.<br />

4 Check content for accuracy, edit<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> correct<strong>in</strong>g as necessary.<br />

5 Seek clarification when necessary.<br />

6 Store the text <strong>and</strong> the orig<strong>in</strong>al record<strong>in</strong>g safely <strong>and</strong> securely <strong>in</strong> approved locations.<br />

7 Present the text <strong>in</strong> the required format with<strong>in</strong> agreed deadl<strong>in</strong>es <strong>and</strong> quality st<strong>and</strong>ards.<br />
