Bernd Rajal

Bernd Rajal is partner with Schoenherr in Vienna, where he is a member of the firm’s
regulatory practice group. He is also a member of the Steering Committee of Schoenherr’s
energy group. Mr Rajal’s practice focuses on regulatory issues such as energy, environment,
waste and water management, emission trading and restoration of contaminated sites.
He advises energy suppliers with regard to EIA approvals and realisation of hydro-power
plants. He advises the Association of Austrian Electricity Companies with regard to
the implementation of the EU Third Energy Package. With Schoenherr representing
various governmental departments, he is also involved in legislative procedures making
proposals for the amendment of energy and environmental law provisions. Moreover,
he advises foreign governmental departments (such as OPCOM in Romania) on the
implementation of black, green and white certificate schemes into national law. Mr Rajal
is heavily involved in wind park projects and coordinates due diligence proceedings
related to transactions in the energy and environmental sectors.

Erik Richer La Flèche is a partner in the Montréal office of Stikeman Elliott specialising
in commercial transactions in Canada and abroad, including capital and natural resource
projects, PPPs and project finance. He has led large projects in more than 25 countries.
From 1981 to 1984 he was seconded to Anderson Mōri Tomostune (Tokyo). He is
currently involved in an aluminum smelter expansion (Canada), wind farms (Canada),
hospitals (Canada), a railroad (Asia Minor), central heating and cooling systems
(Canada), and a high-voltage transmission line (Canada–USA). Included in Euromoney’s
