programs. However, in <strong>on</strong>e simulati<strong>on</strong> step this is not acceptable. Our simulati<strong>on</strong><br />

tool uses the Swing library for creating graphical user interfaces. It is possible<br />

to use change the graphics of the envir<strong>on</strong>ment, the agents and the obstacles and<br />

customize the simulati<strong>on</strong> envir<strong>on</strong>ment and visualizati<strong>on</strong> according to user needs.<br />

Users now have an interesting tool for the implementati<strong>on</strong> of the simulati<strong>on</strong> of<br />

P col<strong>on</strong>ies with the ability to edit the simulati<strong>on</strong> directly from the simulati<strong>on</strong><br />

envir<strong>on</strong>ment or from any text editor.<br />

6 C<strong>on</strong>clusi<strong>on</strong><br />

In this paper we introduce a new kind of P col<strong>on</strong>ies that would be suitable for<br />

simulating real-world situati<strong>on</strong>s. We created a 2D envir<strong>on</strong>ment where agents are<br />

located. The agents have limited informati<strong>on</strong> about the c<strong>on</strong>tents of their envir<strong>on</strong>ment,<br />

which better reflects the reality. In order to solve the simulati<strong>on</strong> problems<br />

in the example of stigmergy and ants we proposed the introducti<strong>on</strong> of priority<br />

of programs. The activities of agents become more natural, because in real-life<br />

situati<strong>on</strong>s ants prefer to perform certain activities over others. To present and<br />

inspect the computati<strong>on</strong> of 2D P col<strong>on</strong>ies we have created a simulati<strong>on</strong> envir<strong>on</strong>ment.<br />

We plan to extend the simulator to use statistical tools and dynamic<br />

envir<strong>on</strong>ment in the future.<br />
