Since Pears<strong>on</strong> correlati<strong>on</strong> al<strong>on</strong>e cannot distinguish between direct and indirect<br />

interacti<strong>on</strong>s, the use of partial correlati<strong>on</strong> can be useful to analyze if a direct<br />

interacti<strong>on</strong> between two time-series exists [10]. The minimum first order partial<br />
