network and a mobile’s home network. Intuitively, as the TAH count h n grows, � n is<br />

expected to decrease so that the handover cost of switch<strong>in</strong>g to network n is <strong>in</strong>creased<br />

accord<strong>in</strong>g to (Equation 5.5). Generally, a handover algorithm should be encouraged to<br />

select those networks “close” to a mobile’s home network (measured by trust<br />

relationship) <strong>in</strong> most cases. So, the values of � n for low hop count should be closer to 1<br />

such that the handover costs f n of the networks closer to the MH’s home network still<br />
