REPORTING:<br />

(1) Vessels must report to Kotka VTS on VHF Ch 67 as follows:<br />

(a) On entering the VTS area<br />

(b) 10 mins prior to entering Ruotsinsalmi<br />

(c) On anchoring or berthing<br />

(d) Prior to departure from a port or anchorage<br />

(2) Reports shall contain the following information:<br />

(a) Vessel’s name<br />

(b) Position<br />

(c) Destination<br />

(d Intended route. If an alternative route is selected, this must be reported<br />

(3) Vessels are required to notify Kotka VTS <strong>of</strong> the following:<br />

(a) Any incident or accident aff ecting the vessel’s safety<br />

(b) Any incident or accident endangering the safety <strong>of</strong> navigation<br />

(c) Any circumstance that may cause pollution <strong>of</strong> waters or the coast<br />

(d) Any pollutant spills and containers or packages drifting in the sea<br />

(4) If a vessel anchors or stops for any reason on its way through the VTS area, a<br />

report must be made stating the reason. A report must also be made when underway<br />

again.<br />

(5) Additional reports may be made in order to warn other traffi c.<br />

(c) Destination<br />

(d) Fairway being used<br />

(3) Vessels are required to notify West Coast VTS <strong>of</strong> the following:<br />

(b) Any incident or accident endangering the safety <strong>of</strong> navigation<br />

(c) Any circumstance that may cause pollution <strong>of</strong> waters or the coast<br />

Vessel Traffic Service<br />

AREA:<br />

<strong>The</strong> West Coast VTS area is divided into two sectors:<br />

(1) Pori VTS Sector: An arc <strong>of</strong> 12 n miles radius centered on Kaijakari Lt (61°36′·85N<br />

21°21′·90E) to the administrative area limits <strong>of</strong> the Ports <strong>of</strong> Mäntyluoto and<br />

Tahkoluoto.<br />

(2) Rauma VTS Sector: An arc <strong>of</strong> 12 n miles radius centered on Rauma Lt Ho<br />

(61°09′·00N 21°09′·60E) to the administrative area limits <strong>of</strong> the Ports <strong>of</strong> Rauma,<br />

Eurajoki and Olkiluoto.<br />
