(2) Pilot ordering: Vessels must order Pilots via agents at least 2h before arrival,
stating:

(b) Course
(c) Speed
(3) Pilot boards within an area of radius of 500m centred on position 32°44′·90S
71°31′·90W.

The area covered by the VTS includes Quintero Bay and the oceanic area delimited by
the following positions:

(2) 32°25′·85S 71°40′·53W
(3) 32°31′·72S 71°49′·50W
(4) 32°45′·53S 71°49′·65W
(5) 32°56′·92S 71°43′·33W
(6) 33°01′·08S 71°38′·35W

PROCEDURE:
(1) Participation in the VTS is mandatory for the following:
(a) All vessels in transit towards Quintero Bay
(b) Vessels entering or leaving the bay
(c) Vessels anchoring within the port limits
(2) Vessels must keep a permanent listening watch on VHF Ch 16.
(3) Vessels should confi rm ETA 1h before arrival to Quintero Radio via VHF Ch 16.
(4) Participation in the VTS is voluntary for vessels transiting the VTS area from the
N, S or W but they must keep their AIS systems in operation.
REPORTING:
(1) On entering the VTS area vessels should establish communication with Quintero
Radio stating the following information:
(a) Vessel’s name
(b) Call sign
(c) ETA at the Pilot boarding position
(2) Vessels in transit, outside of the port limits, should include in their report:
(a) Vessel’s name
(b) Departure time from last port
(c) Destination port and ETA
