PROCEDURE:
(1) Pilotage is compulsory except when arriving or departing the Designated
Waiting Area (10 n mile diameter circle centred on position 6°07′·50S 10°36′·70E).
(2) Notice of ETA: Vessels should advise ETA via e-mail or fax to the terminal on
commencement of voyage from previous port. ETA updates should also be sent 96h,
72h, 48h, 24h and 4h before arrival confi rming the fi rm ETA. Further ETA updates
should be made when within VHF range.
(3) An immediate ETA should be sent if the vessel’s ETA varies by more than 6h from
the original ETA.
(4) An immediate ETA should be sent if the vessel’s ETA varies by more than 1h
following transmission of the 24h ETA.
(5) Vessels should notify the terminal of any signifi cant changes in ETA, or in the
availability of the vessel to commence loading upon arrival, where there is any potential
for negative impact on the timing of terminal operations.
(6) Upon receipt of the terminal standard message, vessels should advise by e-
mail (angolab31psvmterm@bp.com) and/or fax (+244(0)222 638080), the following
information:
(a) ETA and intended NOR
(b) Cargo requirements in bbls, nominated disports
(c) Confi rm vessel bow is fully OCIMF compliant with SBM recommendations and
advise number, type, size and SWL of bow stoppers
(d) Oil pollution certifi cate details (CLC + IOPPC)
(e) Last port and expected volume OBQ/slops on arrival
(f) Owner, operator, charterer
(g) Address and telephone number of owner, operator, charterer
(h) Flag, port of registry
(j) SDWT, max summer draught, gt, nt, LOA, beam, year built, call sign
(k) Master’s full name as to appear on Bill of Lading
(l) Last 10 cargoes
(m) SCAC code (if required) - confi rm date element reference to charter party or Bill
of Lading date
(n) Arrival draughts forward and aft and expected departure draughts forward and
aft
(p) ISPS security level, name and rank of SSO
(q) Confi rm 220V available in Pilot cabin or provision of transformer to convert to
220V
(r) Volume of ballast onboard and volume to be discharged, time required if not
concurrent

(7) Upon arrival at the Designated Waiting Area, the vessel will be advised of the
anticipated date and time of the berthing operation. Mooring operations are normally
conducted between 0600 LT and 1500 LT with unmooring H24.
(8) Vessels are prohibited from approaching within 5 n miles of the FPSO without the
Pilot or Terminal Representative onboard.
(9) Pilot boards in position 6°10′·90S 10°40′·30E.
