(1) <strong>The</strong> operational area <strong>of</strong> the Gulf <strong>of</strong> Kachchh VTMS covers the waters between<br />

the latitudes <strong>of</strong> 22°14′·50N to 23°34′·00N and the longitudes <strong>of</strong> 68°16′·00E to<br />

70°30′·00E.<br />

(2) <strong>The</strong> operational area <strong>of</strong> the VTMS is divided into 4 sectors:<br />

(1) <strong>The</strong> system is mandatory for the following:<br />

(a) Vessels over 300 gt<br />

(b) All passenger vessels<br />

(2) Notice <strong>of</strong> ETA: Vessels shall send a Pre Arrival/Departure Report to MCC<br />

Kandla at least 24h prior to arrival. A vessel arriving from a port with less than 24h<br />

steaming time shall notify MCC Kandla by e-mail or fax immediately on departure from<br />

previous port.<br />

(3) <strong>The</strong> Report should contain the following information:<br />

(a) Vessel’s name and call sign<br />

(b) IMO and MMSI numbers<br />

(c) ETA at entry point<br />

(d) Destination port and ETA<br />

(e) Year <strong>of</strong> build<br />

(f) Flag<br />

(g) Port <strong>of</strong> registry<br />

(h) gt and nt<br />

(i) dwt<br />

(j) LOA<br />

(k) Beam<br />

(l) Summer draught<br />

(m) Moulded depth<br />

(n) Draught; forward, midships, aft<br />

(o) Port <strong>of</strong> loading<br />

REPORTING:<br />

Vessels must report to MCC Kandla at the following times:<br />

(1) An initial call on VHF Ch 16 when entering the VTMS area.<br />

(2) On the relevant Sector VHF Channel when entering or leaving a Sector.<br />
