Olimpia was furious to hear what her nephew had done and decided

what to do. But vacant See or not, the palace he had been living in was
her property. Cardinal Maidalchini had to move. He stored his tables
and chairs at the palace of Prince Ludovisi.
Huffing and puffing on his way out, Cardinal Maidalchini “was so
mad at his aunt that he said publicly that when there was a new pope
the first favor he would ask was this, that she be punished severely.” 9
