Message from Chairman
Thai Automotive sector have adversely effected from the economy slowdown which have been challenged by
many factors for example, political uncertainty situation, rising oil price, appreciation of Baht currency, lower
domestic consumption, and the financial crisis in the States. As a result, year 2007 total numbers of passenger
cars sold in Thailand decreased from 195,624 in 2006 to 182,767 cars.
Along with other Thai companies in automotive sector, S.E.C. Auto Sales and Services Plc. has effected from
such economy slowdown. For year 2007, total sale revenues have decreased to Baht 2,345 million from Baht
2,742 million in 2006. However, total revenue from services in 2007 has substantially increased from year 2006
with Baht 132 million, or 21% increased from year 2006. Despite of negative impacts to the sector, higher
revenues in services has proved that our customer services have impressed both existing and new customers.
Our decreasing sales revenue was only the result of postpone in new car purchase. We believe that when
consumers regain their confidence in the economy, it is not beyond our management and employees’
capability to generate sales growth as previously achieved.
Finally, on behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thanks all of our shareholders and customers who
always support the Company and all of our Management and employees at all levels who played an important
role in dedicating towards our successful and steadily achievement. All of these are the important factors
helped the company to successfully overcome the obstacles and crisis throughout the years.
(Mr. Sompong Witthayaraksan)
