ECI will provide its IP DSLAM platform to support Atlas Telecom’s applications to both<br />

residential and business subscribers. ECI’s ADSL2+ based equipment will be co-located in<br />

the central offices of the incumbent operator in Romania, to support residential services.<br />

ECI’s outside plant solution will be installed within Atlas Telecom’s own street cabinets,<br />

using VDSL2 line cards, to support business subscribers.<br />

[E14] Romanian IPTV operation Ines instead, plans to invest € 500,000 on its network in<br />

2008, according to a local report. Part of the money will be used to prepare for the<br />

introduction of such additional services as HDTV. Ines claims to be the first IPTV operation<br />

in Romania and provides its service in upmarket parts of the capital, Bucharest.<br />

Slovakia<br />

UPC Broadband Slovakia is the most relevant multimedia provider of Slovakia.<br />

[E16] On November 14 th , 2007, the company has announced that it will not raise the prices<br />

for any of its services from the beginning of 2008. These now include a 70-channel digital<br />

cable TV offer named UPC Digital, which made its debut earlier this year, as well as<br />

analogue cable TV, broadband internet access and telephony.<br />

Slovenia<br />

[E16] T-2 is the number one alternative IPTV operator in Slovenia that offers a wide<br />

selection of movies, series and other video content, available for on-demand viewing.<br />

In this year, Verimatrix announced the successful deployment of Verimatrix's Video Content<br />

Authority System for T-2's IPTV deployment.<br />

While traditional conditional access systems are architected around one-way<br />

communications, Verimatrix has designed its solutions from the ground up using the power<br />

and integrity of modern two-way IP infrastructure.<br />
