Rama went up to the temple of Chandi on the
opposite bank of the Ganges today. The temple lies
on the top of a lovely little hill. The forest on that
side of the river is very thick and the scenery most
picturesque. The view of the Ganges, as branching
into scores of streams, and returning is extremely
beautiful. The Himalayan glaciers present a golden
or diamond spectacle from Chandi‘s Temple.
