Coromandel is my left and the Malabar my right leg. I<br />

am the whole of India, and its east and west are my<br />

arms, and I spread them in a straight line to embrace<br />

humanity. I am universal in my love. Ah! Such is the<br />

posture of my body. It is standing and gazing at infinite<br />

space; but my inner spirit is the soul of all. When I walk,<br />

I feel it is India walking. When I speak, I feel it is India<br />

speaking. When I breathe, I feel it is India breathing. I<br />

am India, I am Shankara, I am Shiva. This is the highest<br />

realisation of patriotism, and this is Practical Vedanta.<br />

O Setting Sun, Thou art going to rise in India. Wilt<br />

Thou please carry this message of <strong>Rama</strong> to that land of<br />

glory? May these tear drops of love be the morning be in<br />

the fields of India! As a Shaiva worships Shiva, a<br />

Vaishnava Vishnu, a Buddhist Buddha, a Christian<br />

Christ, a Muhammadan Mohamad, with a heart turned<br />

into a ―Burning Bush‖ I see and worship India in the<br />

form of a Shaiva, Vaishnava, Buddhist, Christian,<br />

Muhammadan, Parsi, Sikh, Sanyasi, Pariah or any of<br />

Her children. I adore <strong>The</strong>e in all Thy manifestations,<br />

Mother India, my Gangaji, my Kali, my Isht Deva, my<br />

Shalagram. While talking about worship, says the God<br />

who loved to eat the very clay of India : "<strong>The</strong> difficulty<br />

of those whose minds are set on the unmanifested is<br />

greater ; for the path of the unmanifested is hard for the<br />
