THE PROBLEM OF HIS COUNTRY<br />

HIS THOUGHTS ON INDIA<br />

AFTER his return from America, he spoke and<br />

wrote constantly, till the very day of his sudden<br />

death, on the Indian problems of all kinds—<br />

religious, social and political—and inspired his<br />

countrymen with a new outlook on their duties as<br />

citizens of India. In fact, he expanded his ideas on<br />

"<strong>The</strong> Secret of Success" 24 into many books.<br />

<strong>Of</strong> all philosophic systems in the world, that of<br />

Vedanta as <strong>Swami</strong> <strong>Rama</strong>, or before him, <strong>Swami</strong><br />

Vivekananda preached it, leads in its full<br />

realisation, more to internationalism, than to<br />

nationalism, for nationalism is only an expanded<br />

personal love or attachment for the land we live in.<br />

This springs from a deep-laden hunger in man for<br />

a good, honest life of activity and not of trance or<br />
