No one expected Johnny Kilbane to become a champion boxer.
As a scrawny youngster, he sang and danced and dreamed of
being an actor or gymnast. He worked hard from an early age
as a switchboy on the railroad, supporting his family after his
dad went blind. But when he witnessed his first boxing match
as a teen, everything changed for Kilbane. He was mesmerized
by it. And he realized the profits it could yield. On the spot
he knew what he needed to do. Years later, after winning
the championship fight against Abe Attell in 1912, Kilbane
became a hero to his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. The Irish
immigrant community in which he was raised beamed with
pride. Kilbane’s determined spirit continued on long after his
days in the ring as he also went on to have a successful career
in local politics. A FIGHTING HEART is an inspiring story
about a man who never sold himself short, even if the odds
weren’t always in his favor. —E.F.

If seeing male genitalia makes you queasy, you haven’t seen
nothing yet. And if it doesn’t, you haven’t seen enough of
nothing yet. You’re about to see a whole lot of everything. THE
FINAL MEMBER is a documentary following Siggi Hjartarson
and his quest to complete his collection of mammalian penises
at the Icelandic Phallogical Museum. Much to Siggi’s chagrin,
there is one species not represented—yet. Enter Tom Mitchell,
an American who has agreed to donate his penis, while he’s
still alive. Mitchell thinks so highly of his penis, he named it
Elmo. Mitchell’s competition is local lothario Pall Arason who,
at 93, has willed his little friend to the museum. Who’s going
to die first—Arason or Mitchell’s dignity? You haven’t lived till
you’ve seen an English hipster try to get a mold of an Icelandic
man’s genitalia. And you shouldn’t die till you see Mitchell’s
pictures of Elmo in costume. Uncomfortable? Maybe. Worth
every inch? Absolutely. Surprisingly sublime, tremendously
touching, and comically cockamamie, THE FINAL MEMBER is

About the Directors~A graduate of the American Film Institute, Toronto native
Jonah Bekhor has been a successful TV producer of a number of programs. Fellow
Canadian Zach Math is an award-winning commercial director who attended film
schools at Canada’s Queen’s University and the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.
