<strong>The</strong> four orders of society (viz., the Brahman, the<br />

Kshatriya, the Vaisya and the Sudra) were created by<br />

Me, classifying them according to the qualities and<br />

skills,predominant in each and apportioning corresponding<br />

duties to them; thoughI am the author of this creation,<br />

know Me, the immortal Lord, to be passive<br />

and immutable. (4,13)<br />
