of different optimized laser platforms<br />

This chapter is based on the article by Dorronsoro et al.<br />

“Experimental evaluation of optimized ablation patterns for laser<br />

refractive surgery”, published in <strong>Optics</strong> Express <strong>Optics</strong> Express,<br />

Vol. 17, Issue 17, pp. 15292-15307 (2009). This study was partially<br />

presented at ARVO 2008 (Dorronsoro et al., 2008a).<br />

The contribution of Carlos Dorronsoro to the study, in collaboration<br />

with other coauthors, was the literature search, the design of the<br />

experiments, the ablations in clinical sites, the development of the<br />

measurement procedures, the measurement of<br />

the ablated surfaces, the development of the<br />

data analysis routines <strong>and</strong> the analysis itself.<br />

Coauthors of the study are Laura Remon, Jesús<br />

Merayo-Lloves, Benjamín Alonso-Fern<strong>and</strong>ez<br />

<strong>and</strong> Susana Marcos.<br />
