Hot summer days are just around the corner.
We can now all look forward to a full menu of

fruit wines. These wines are available in many
different flavours including Hard Lemonade,

These wines are typically made in 28 days
but if time is an issue, they also lend themselves
to being made in 7 days with the everpopular
7-Day Accelerator Pack.
As a finished product, these Mist fruit wines
are most often packaged in 750ml glass wine
bottles. Another packaging option which has
become popular over the past few years is
called “Wine-on-Tap”. Wine-on-Tap is a 7 litre
bag & tap inserted in a rigid plastic container.
These units travel well and are much safer than
glass bottles when camping, boating or hanging
around the pool.

Millions of people worldwide are affected
by speech and hearing disorders. That’s why
May is Speech and Hearing Awareness Month.
This month gives us hearing healthcare professionals
a chance to help raise awareness of
the challenges faced by people with these disorders
and to stress the importance of early
detection.
There are many psychological effects of
hearing loss, including frustration, withdrawal,
and depression. Trouble communicating with
others creates a strain on relationships and
a loss of esteem. Too often people pretend
hearing loss isn’t happening to them, and ignore
the effect it’s having on their lives and
relationships. More than one million adults
across Canada report having a hearing related
disability and more than half of Canadians
over the age of 65 will experience some degree
of hearing loss, according to Statistics
Canada.
Hearing loss can happen very gradually,
making it difficult for you to notice at first.
Sometimes it’s a loved one close to you who
notices you’re missing words or sounds. The
only way to truly determine if you have a
hearing loss is to have your hearing tested or
screened by a hearing professional such as a
Hearing Instrument Specialist, an Audiologist
or an Ear Nose and Throat specialist.
In years gone by, hearing loss was much
more difficult to treat and results were less
than ideal. These days technology has helped
hearing aids become extremely effective for a
lot more people. They are also smaller and
more discreet and there are many options
available.
