The pageant’s website suggests, “our vision is to recreate the glamour of pageants with a stronger focus on education
and equality. Our pageant titleholder can be anyone and is not limited to a specific height or cultural background. We
provide equal opportunity for all.”
Its mission statement is “to provide assistance to charities and non-profit organizations. To help raise funds and bring
public awareness to charitable causes. Promote multiculturalism, special events and non-profit fundraisers throughout
Canada. Be a symbol of today’s modern woman!”
Wants to work with teens
When asked what beauty means to her, Chantal said, “beauty to me is someone who is honest, has a true heart, a voice
to help others and who believes that they can make a difference.”
She added, “I’m a very open person and I went through a lot when I was younger. As a result, I want to work with teens
because I feel like I can relate.”
She is representing charities she suggests are close to her heart: Teens’ Help Line; Make a Wish Foundation; and the SPCA.
She says she has battled eating problems and depression, and also survived an abusive relationship, but has come out on
the other side with renewed personal strength and a healthy regard for the value of a positive attitude.
“I went through a lot when I was younger, but realized if I can get through all that I can help someone else,” she says. “I
want my story to inspire teens who may be going through the same thing, and to know that you are strong and that you
can get through. Mainly, that you are not alone.
“Everything happens for a reason, even if you don’t know the reason. You won’t know what happens unless you go
for it and that’s what makes you feel better as a person. If you don’t try and live your dreams, that’s what will make you
miserable.”
Tackle dreams with gusto
So she has decided to go all-in, stretch her boundaries and tackle
her dreams with gusto. Every little bit along the way will make a
difference and she notes “personal sponsors can give sponsorship
in the form of pledges. If a personal sponsor gives a minimum
$50 pledge, they will receive a miscellaneous receipt from Miss
Canada Globe Productions, which they can use as a write-off for
miscellaneous expense.”
A win at the Miss Teen Canada Globe competition would bring
her one step closer to being the best person she can be and a solid
representative for youth in Nova Scotia.
“It would give me a platform to help other teenagers and help
raise awareness of their issues,” she says.
