In honor of Honus Wagner’s 57th birthday,<br />

dignitaries in Paterson, New Jersey honored<br />

the “Flying Dutchman” with a testimonial<br />

dinner. It was in Paterson where Wagner<br />

made his professional debut for the Silk<br />

Weavers of the Atlantic League. Managed<br />

by Ed Barrow, Wagner quickly climbed the<br />

latter to future big league success. The (25)<br />

signatories on this gatefold program include<br />

former mayors and other city officials. The<br />

crisp fountain-pen endorsements present<br />

nicely despite extensive creasing and soiling<br />

to the program. No LOA due to lack of<br />

exemplars.<br />

unique 1989 Detroit Tigers Police Jeff<br />

Robinson signed 24x36 poster. Mounted on a<br />

Styrofoam base, the artifact is penned by the<br />

hurler in black Sharpie. Awarded as part of a<br />

promotion where safety slogans were submitted<br />

for review, the winners were then invited<br />

to a 1989 Detroit Tigers Game, called out to<br />

the pitchers mound and introduced during pregame<br />

festivities. The “Please don’t ‘Balk’ at<br />

seatbelt and child restraint use! Buckle up for<br />

life!” earned the victor this true “one of one”<br />
