for numerous innovations primarily to
the game of football during the late
1800s and early 1900s. Offered is a
stately 7-1/2 x 9-1/2” period portrait
photograph featuring Stagg’s dignified
(“8”) quality endorsement applied boldly
in black ink by steel-tip fountain pen.
The photo and signature present handsomely,
however the image is marginally
affected by a light horizontal crease in
the facial region and the signature shows
