Fenway
Park Ticket
Stub - PSA
3
The second
installment in the
short-lived
“dual” series, the
1961 All-Star
Game No. 2 resulted in a rain-abbreviate 1-1 tie, the event’s only deadlock until Bud
Selig’s 2002 debacle. Encapsulated and Graded VG 3 by PSA, this ticket stub was
issued at Fenway Park for that ’61 exhibition. One of two at its tier with only six
graded higher, this voucher is affected by minimal reverse paper loss but otherwise
presents much higher than the technical assessment suggests.
Opening Bid $150.00
Authentic
In the annals of championship baseball, never has a pitching staff dominated an opponent
as thoroughly as did that of the Baltimore Orioles in the 1966 Fall Classic, blanking
the Dodgers for 33 consecutive innings to secure a series sweep. Assessed
“Authentic” by PSA, this full ticket was issued at Baltimore’s Memorial Stadium for
Game 3, a contest whose lone tally came on a home run off the bat of Birds center
fielder Paul Blair. While reverse mounting remnants account for the technical grade,
the voucher presents nicely with razor sharp edges/corners.
Opening Bid $200.00
On his way to
N.L. MVP plaudits,
Triple
Crown threat Willie McCovey entered the 1969 All-Star Game with 30 home runs and
a .325 average. Exhibition or not, McCovey treated the Mid-Summer Classic like any
other in the pennant race, belting two home runs to take MVP honors in that contest.
Graded Good 2 by PSA, this full ticket was issued at RFK Stadium for that 1969 All-
Star tilt. The lone specimen at its tier with only six graded higher, the voucher presents
nicely with strong perforations and a clean reverse.
Opening Bid $200.00
Royals
Full Ticket
- PSA 7
As the Major
League All-Star
Game continued
inaugural performances at venues with Astroturf, some constants remained in the 1973
installment: the National League continued its dominance and Willie Mays appeared
once again. This full ticket was issued at Royals Stadium for that 1973 Mid-Summer
Classic, Mays’ 24th and last and the second of 11 straight N.L. triumphs.
Encapsulated and Graded NM 7 by PSA, this gold-colored voucher showcases event
and host logos, as well as printed seating/event legends.
Opening Bid $150.00
314. Koufax 55th Win/Dodgers
First Win at Dodger Stadium
PSA 5 Ticket Stub - Highest
Graded
While seven of his 12 big league seasons were
behind him, Sandy Koufax was to earn the bulk
of his triumphs, all four no-hitters and all three
Cy Young laurels during his last five seasons.
Encapsulated and Graded EX 5, this ticket was
issued on April 11, 1962 at a newly erected
Dodger Stadium, where Koufax earned his 55th
career triumph and his club’s first-ever win at
Chavez Ravine. This is the lone specimen at its
tier with none graded higher.
Opening Bid $150.00
316. 1966 World Series PSA 3 Game 4 Full Ticket -
Baltimore’s First Title
Completing a World Series pitching clinic more impressive than any effort before or
since, Orioles southpaw Dave McNally blanked the Dodgers in Game 4 of the 1966
showdown to run the Birds pitchers’ skein to 33 consecutive scoreless innings.
Graded VG 3 by PSA, this full ticket was issued at Memorial Stadium for that series
clincher. With printed seating/event legends and a background likeness of the 33rd St.
edifice, the voucher presents beautifully, though adhesive remnants on the reverse
account for the technical grade.
Opening Bid $250.00
Willie Mays
Last Giants
HR PSA 4
Ticket Stub -
Lone Graded
As the field
expanded and division
play was introduced,
a few time-honored traditions remained, including Willie Mays as the figurehead
of contending Giants teams. Encapsulated and Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA, this
Riverfront Stadium ticket stub was issued on September 26, 1971 as Mays delivered
his 646th and final home run as a Giant. The lone graded specimen, the colorful
voucher presents beautifully and hails from a 12-5 Giants triumph that allowed them
to keep their one-game lead in the N.L. West.
Opening Bid $200.00
320. April 8,
1974 Hank
Aaron 715th
HR Ticket
Stub - PSA 3
Seemingly carved in
stone for nearly 40
years, Babe Ruth’s
standard of 714
career home runs
was eclipsed on
April 8, 1974 as
Hank Aaron turned on an Al Downing offering to complete a chase that had taken
nearly 21 years. Encapsulated and Graded VG 3 by PSA, this ticket stub was issued
in Atlanta that night as “Hammerin’ Hank” defied the odds and shattered a mark once
deemed untouchable. One of two at its tier with only five graded higher, this voucher
has a pair of staple holes, though presents much nicer than the technical assessment.
Opening Bid $150.00
