contemporaries
Frankie
Frisch and
Rogers Hornsby have autographed this baseball. The
ONL Giles orb shows apparent diamond use and is
signed by both on a side panel. Frisch’s ballpoint penning
is minimally affected by surface abrasions and
projects (“5-6”) strength. Just below, Hornsby’s signature
shows (“7”) quality. This is among Hornsby’s last
signatures, as the ball’s trademark stampings date no
earlier than 1959. Note: an adjacent panel has been
signed by Monte Irvin (“4”) and there are signature
removals elsewhere. Full photo LOA from JSA.
