Ticket Stub -
PSA 5
Winners of a
National League
record four successive
pennants, the
New York Giants
completed their feat in 1924, only to be felled by the Washington Senators in that club’s
lone October triumph. Encapsulated and Graded EX 5 by PSA, this ticket stub was issued
at Manhattan’s Polo Grounds on October 6 for Game 3 of that Fall Classic, which resulted
in a 6-4 Giants win. One of two at its tier with only one graded higher, this voucher presents
beautifully, with very minor edge wear preventing even higher assessment.
Opening Bid $150.00
Ticket Stub
- PSA
Authentic
On the diamond for what would be the franchise’s final postseason contest, the 1933
Washington Senators were eliminated in Game 5 of the World Series as Mel Ott delivered
the decisive home run in the top of the 10th. Assessed “Authentic” by PSA, this
ticket stub was issued at Griffith Stadium for that October 7 clincher. The colorful
voucher presents nicely with printed seating/event details and the facsimile signature
of Senators president Clark Griffith.
Opening Bid $150.00
Debut - PSA
Authentic
In the October spotlight following Bobby Thomson’s “Shot Heard ‘round the World,”
20-year-old rookie Willie Mays and the New York Giants squared off against Mickey
Mantle and the Yankees (both HOFers World Series debuts) in what would be that
team’s fourth successive Fall Classic conquest. Assessed “Authentic” by PSA, this full
printer’s proof ticket served as the template for Yankee Stadium vouchers issued for
Game 1 of that Subway Series. The lone graded specimen, this colorful “Mezzanine”
voucher features the host’s “Top Hat” logo and, as a proof, no section, row or seat
designators.
Opening Bid $250.00
World Series
Game 1
Forbes Field
Ticket Stub -
PSA 3
In a Fall Classic
whose final numbers
defied logic, the 1960
installment saw the
underdog Pirates prevail
despite being out-scored by an aggregate 55-27. Encapsulated and Graded VG 3
by PSA, this ticket stub was issued at Forbes Field for the opener of that climactic
showdown. In a 6-4 Bucs win, Bill Mazeroski delivered the first (and more obscure)
of his two World Series home runs. One of three at its tier with only two graded higher,
this colorful voucher features printed seating/event legends and presents nicer than
the technical assessment suggests.
Opening Bid $150.00
Ticket Stub -
Highest
Graded
In what ultimately
turned out to be a
failed bid for a third
straight World Series title, the 1931 Philadelphia Athletics prevailed in the opener as
Lefty Grove fanned seven in a 6-2 win at Sportsman’s Park. Encapsulated and
Graded EX 5 by PSA, this Game 1 ticket stub is the lone specimen at its tier with
none graded higher. Consistent with the technical assessment, the voucher presents
beautifully with printed seating/event details on the obverse and portraits of Cardinals
principals Sam Breadon and Gabby Street on the reverse.
Opening Bid $150.00
Season
Pass -
PSA
Authentic
In their fourth
of a franchisebest
13 successive
winning
seasons, the
Brooklyn Dodgers issued this season pass in 1948, which marked Hall of Famer Arky
Vaughan’s final campaign. Encapsulated and assessed “Authentic” by PSA, this is one
of two specimens at its tier with none graded higher, the voucher features the facsimile
signature of Branch Rickey and has a printed “Photographer” designation, as well
as a handwritten “Head Groundskeeper” identifier.
Opening Bid $150.00
Full Ticket
(Mays 15
Bases) -
PSA 8
Moves of 2500 miles for both the Giants and Dodgers couldn’t squelch a bitter rivalry
that burns to this day. As the foes did battle in their first year on the West Coast, this
full ticket was issued at the historic Los Angeles Coliseum for the May 13, 1958 tilt in
which the Giants prevailed, 16-9 to take over first place and leave the Dodgers in the
cellar. Encapsulated and Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA, the voucher hails from a game
in which Willie Mays delivered two homers, two triples and a single for 15 total
bases. This is one of (7) at its tier with only (1) graded higher.
Opening Bid $150.00
312. 1961 Roger Maris 60th Home
Run Yankee Stadium Ticket Stub
- PSA Authentic
With few supporters and many opposed to his
quest for baseball immortality, Roger Maris
pressed on throughout the 1961 season, tying Bare
Ruth’s single-season home run standard in Game
#158 and breaking the record on the final day of
the season. Encapsulated and assessed “Authentic”
by PSA, this ticket stub was issued to one of
19,401 Yankee Stadium spectators to witness
Maris’ 60th circuit clout. The crisp voucher presents
beautifully, though handwriting on the reverse
accounts for the technical grade. There are only
two graded higher.
Opening Bid $200.00
