Babe Ruth Signed Oversized Photo - Full JSA A massive physical specimen during his unparalleled playing days, Babe Ruth was, and perhaps remains, the most readily recognized figure in American sports. And while he was sadly ravaged by cancer during his demise, his compliance with adoring fans never waned in the least. This autographed poster provides attestation of Ruth’s embracing manner and willingness to sign until the very end. Measuring 15-7/8 x 19-7/8” and mounted to a thick cardboard backing, a black-and-white image portrays Ruth completing his patented swing. Emerging prominently against the background of his pinstriped jersey, Ruth’s black-ink fountain pen signature projects (“6-7”) strength and clarity. Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris Dual Signed Photo-Full JSA The “M&M” boys together again! Nothing could be sweeter than the confection of a season enjoyed by Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris in 1961 when they lead the Universe in home runs while guiding the Yankees to yet another World Series triumph. The presented photo, dual signed by Mantle (“9”) and Maris (“9”) in blue felt tip marker, captured the triumphant boys mugging it up with big grins in a candid pose. Yankees Reunion Photo Signed by (5) With Mantle, Maris and Full JSA Gathered for a reunion at Yankee Stadium during the early-1980s, former Bronx Bombers staples again donned their pinstriped uniforms and waved to the appreciative crowd. This 12x8 color photograph captures that scene and is autographed by (5) of the franchise’s perennial World Series participants. Mickey Mantle Autographed 11x14 “No Shirt” Photograph-Full JSA Candid, rare, obscure…yes, yes, yes, but what lies beyond that This out of the ordinary Mickey Mantle (d.1995) photograph is certainly one you don’t see every day. Presented is an 11x14 extremely candid photo showing a shirtless Mantle getting a rubdown, which judging from Mick’s grin must have been a good one. The only thing bolder than this photo is Mantle’s prominent (“9-10”) strength autograph which has been applied in blue felt tip pen. DiMaggio, Mantle, Martin, Ford Signed Framed Photo Gathered in the Bronx for a reunion, Yankee legends Joe DiMaggio, Whitey Ford, Mickey Mantle and Billy Martin posed for and autographed this photo. Framed to 22x18 under a gray matte, this 14x11 color print shows the famed quartet in the Yankee dugout (Ken Holtzman appears in the background, dating the image to 1976-1978). Each has rendered a blue Sharpie signature that projects (“9”) or better quality. From the personal collection of Ford, the item comes with a COA from Ford. Opening Bid $250.00 444. ITEM WITH RESERVE 445. Babe Ruth and Jacob Ruppert Dual-Signed Postcard - PSA/DNA 7.5 Separately, they began as a premier pitcher and a brewery magnate. Together, they built the foundation for the most hallowed dynasty in American sports. At a St. Petersburg, Florida spring training exhibition in 1934 before their 15th and final season together, Babe Ruth and Jacob Ruppert autographed this photo postcard. Through that time there were seven pennants, four World Series titles, contractual bickering and, when Ruth couldn’t contain himself, disciplinary action. Yet the two remained friends. By Ruth’s own admission, Ruppert called him “Babe” only once, on January 12, 1939, the night before he passed away. Encapsulated and Graded NM+ 7.5 by PSA/DNA, the postcard is signed in blackink steel-tip fountain pen by both, with Ruth’s penning (signed “George H Babe Ruth”) grading PSA/DNA 8 and Ruppert’s (signed “J Ruppert”) PSA/DNA 7. The bold signatures, incidentally, accent a sepia-toned likeness of Ruth flanked by Ruppert and Cap Huston at what appears to be a contract signing on a tree-lined field. On the reverse, the original recipient has penned a summary of how and when these autographs were obtained, citing a March 20, 1934 exhibition at the Boston Braves’ Waterfront Park facility. Ironically, less than a year later, Ruth was released by the Yankees and signed with the Braves as Rupert refused to comply with Ruth’s wishes to manage the club. Simply put, this is an absolutely priceless heirloom as one of very few signed by the two pillars of a dynasty that reigns to this day. This item has a reserve (estimated value $5500-$8000). Walter Johnson Signed Index Card - PSA/DNA 8 From his rustic Kansas to the Nation’s Capital, fireballer Walter Johnson was the face of the Senators, toiling for oft-woeful installments and eventually, starring on back-to-back American League pennant winning rosters. Encapsulated with autograph Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA/DNA, this 4-3/4 x 3” index card is signed by the Hall of Fame hurler. Preceded by his inscription of “Best Wishes always,” Johnson’s black ink penning is deserving of the technical assessment. This item has a reserve (estimated value $1100-$2000). Ty Cobb Autograph - PSA/DNA Gem-MT 10 While his approach to hitting and calculated competitive style were as close to perfect as a player could approach, Ty Cobb’s potent autograph is perfect on this encapsulated example. Rendered on an otherwise blank 3-3/8 x 2-3/8” card, Cobb’s blackink fountain pen signature and inscription of “Aug – 9 - 30” have been Graded GEM MT 10 by PSA/DNA. Accented by his trademark paraph, Cobb’s signature warrants every bit of its high technical praise. Opening Bid $400.00 448.
