P RINCIPAL A CTIVITIES P LAN<br />
State Indoor Multi-use Sports Stadium<br />
Status<br />
Peter Hunt Architects have been appointed for the project. Concept design work has been carried out in <strong>2004</strong>-<strong>2005</strong>. A request for additional<br />
funding has been made to the State Government.<br />
Smith’s Lake Redevelopment<br />
Status<br />
The sale <strong>of</strong> the Elven Street lots has been deferred due to both Council and the Western Australian Planning Commission raising concerns<br />
with the proposed design guidelines for the lots. The new timeframe for the sale <strong>of</strong> the lots is late <strong>2005</strong>.<br />
Extension <strong>of</strong> the Veterans' Tennis Pavilion at Robertson Park<br />
Status<br />
Following an internal review by the members <strong>of</strong> the original pavilion development, the planned development was significantly changed.<br />
(The plans for the new proposal were approved at the Council meeting <strong>of</strong> 23 September 2003. Construction commenced in March <strong>2004</strong><br />
and was completed in mid November <strong>2004</strong>).<br />
Office Building for Department <strong>of</strong> Sport and Recreation<br />
Status<br />
A lease has been finalised between the Town and the Ministry <strong>of</strong> Housing Works. The final building plans have been approved by Council, the<br />
building tender contract was issued in October 2003 and construction commenced in November 2003. This building was occupied by the<br />
Department <strong>of</strong> Sport and Recreation in February <strong>2005</strong>.<br />
Beatty Park Leisure Centre<br />
Status<br />
A needs analysis and feasibility study is being undertaken during this financial year to assess the long-term requirements and costs <strong>of</strong> any<br />
future development <strong>of</strong> the facility.<br />
Stuart Green's sculpture is installed as part <strong>of</strong> the Percentage for Art Scheme<br />
