<strong>Jewish</strong> residents are divided on <strong>the</strong> <strong>Jewish</strong> character <strong>of</strong> activity provided by <strong>East</strong> <strong>Bay</strong> <strong>Jewish</strong><br />

organizations; 43 percent agree that <strong>the</strong>y would prefer activities with <strong>Jewish</strong> people that do not<br />

have a <strong>Jewish</strong> <strong>the</strong>me or organized around faith in any way (43 percent disagree). To be clear, a<br />

majority (84 percent) does not feel uncomfortable attending events in <strong>Jewish</strong> spaces like a<br />

synagogue or <strong>the</strong> JCC, but <strong>the</strong>re is no clear constituency for ―non-<strong>Jewish</strong>‖ <strong>Jewish</strong> activities.<br />

Residents who prefer secular activities are slightly more likely to be intermarried, but o<strong>the</strong>rwise<br />

do not stand out in any way.<br />
