Just over one-quarter <strong>of</strong> <strong>East</strong> <strong>Bay</strong> <strong>Jewish</strong> residents have children over age 18 years and 31<br />

percent have children younger than 18 years. Very few residents have more than two children<br />

under age 18, and most <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> children <strong>of</strong> <strong>East</strong> <strong>Bay</strong> Jews are between <strong>the</strong> ages <strong>of</strong> six and ten<br />

years. The vast majority <strong>of</strong> younger children live with <strong>the</strong>ir parents or guardians. A strong<br />

majority <strong>of</strong> parents are married (81 percent), though 9 percent are single, separated, divorced,<br />

or widowed.<br />
