academic advice in selected universities.

UAE universities
Other Substantive Tasks
IRS monitored and updated the content of the
PI web: Eurof Thomas and Bart Daems worked
on content and design to improve the PI’s web
presence. IRS also coordinates the Institutional
Advisory and Governing Board’s meetings for
the President’s Office.

IV. Future Plans
To support data reporting and statistical
analysis activities at the PI, IRS is developing
an institutional data bank which serves as a
central standardized source of data collection
and reporting for all PI personnel and
departments.
A software for institutional assessment and
planning is being evaluated by the IRS with a
view to implement it at the PI. The purpose
of this tool is to streamline assessment
and strategic planning and to encourage
the continuous improvement of academic
programs, academic and student support
services and administrative services by
implementing policies and procedures as
required by the CAA.
Current Initiatives
The activities of IRS are mostly collaborative
and supportive in nature: their purpose is to
integrate assessment, planning and research
to achieve institutional strategic objectives.
To facilitate this process IRS has completed
the following tasks:
• The IR Helpdesk portal to better serve
the PI community with data and report
requests
• An events calendar to record and
announce institutional events and
