Strategic Planning Timeline The timeline of the two phases of the PI Strategic Planning is depicted below: Phase I of Strategic Planning is completed and the targets of Phase II are accomplished by October 2012. The process is an inclusive exercise and participation at all levels is required for successful development and implementation. Once completed, the strategic plan will form a cornerstone in development of annual unit plans, guide development of annual targets, and clarify alignment of activities and initiatives needed to achieve goals spelled out in plan. Moreover, it is expected to help PI meet more effectively the expectations from ADNOC and Operating Companies as they turn to the PI to produce high-caliber engineers and innovative research solutions. 24
A year of transformation, growth and success ABET UPDATE Research Award Dr. Balanthi Beig Electrical Engineering The PI received accreditation for all five undergraduate programs by ABET: the Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering programs are all accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) and the Petroleum Geosciences is accredited by the Applied Science Accreditation Commission (ASAC). 25
