A year of transformation, growth and success
integrity. The Registrar’s Office is ultimately
a service department balancing the needs of
students, faculty, staff and administration by
acting as an institutional nexus for information
and services. The Registrar’s Office Mission,
Principles and Operating Values, and Program
Goals are listed below:
Mission
The Registrar’s Office Mission is to support
the instructional goals of the Petroleum
Institute and to ensure the integrity of student
academic records.
Principles and Operating Values
We are a service organization.
We uphold the integrity of the student
records.
We conduct ourselves in a consistent and
ethical manner.
We are integrating the use of technology.
We strive to listen to - and meet - the needs
of the campus community.
We work as a team and take responsibly for
our work and our department.
We trust each other to be honest and
professional.
We are always striving to be innovative.
III. Highlights for the
Academic Year 2011-2012
The 2011-2012 academic year was a time of
change and transition. The Registrar’s Office
saw the departure Mohamed Kassim as
Assistant Registrar and the addition of new
staff.
New Staff
The Registrar’s Office welcomed Hamda
Al-Rashdi as its newest team member. Ms.
Al-Rashdi joined the PI as Records Officer
in October of 2011. She holds a Bachelor’s
Degree in English Language and Literature
(1998) from United Arab Emirates University
(UAEU). She additionally holds multiple
training qualifications from various areas. Ms.
Al-Rashdi has over 10 years of experience in
education within the United Arab Emirates.
Current Initiatives
Despite being significantly understaffed during
2011-2012, the Registrar’s Office managed to
complete the four major initiatives below:
Program Goals
• Integrate technology to provide better
access to information and services.
• Standardize policies and procedures to
ensure consistency.
• Deliver unparalleled customer service in
various forms.
• Become the informational clearinghouse
for the Petroleum Institute.
• Foster cooperative relationships with the
PI Community.
Arzanah One-Stop Shop (SOS) – The
Registrar’s Office acted as the project manager
for the SOS. The Arzanah SOS project was
initiated as an effort to equalize services for
students of the Arzanah Building. Although
the female students represented a significant
portion of the overall PI student population,
