I. Executive Summary
2011-2012 was a hectic year with a number
of important initiatives carried out with the
support of the Governing Board and the
PI senior management. We were also wellsupported
by the Campus Master Plan Liaison
group and a team of faculty and staff who
came together to add to the momentum
generated by a change management program
implemented in early 2011:
• The facilities team embarked on a
major effort to improve the image of
the PI through upgrading the students’
dormitories, recreation facilities and
work spaces. This had a great impact on
student morale.
• The PI’s catering services are undergoing
a strategic change: breaking away from
the standard model and establishing a
more student-friendly, service focused
agreement.
• Organizational changes have made FMS
leaner and more concentrated on its
core business.
• The department has been redeveloped
in accordance with its business functions
and this allows closer collaboration
among colleagues.
• Security was enhanced through car park
developments at Habshan and Arzanah
and through the installation of CCTV in
Zarkuh, Bu Hasa and Ruwais buildings
• A new PI Brand Image has been
introduced.
