The Petroleum Institute | Annual Report - Academic Year 2011 - 2012 coordinators from each PI Engineering department. • We have organized proper mobilization, transportation, on-site accommodation and demobilization of interns in accordance with all the relevant health, safety and security standards. • We have made sure that the PI Engineering program coordinators visit the students at least twice during each internship period to monitor their progress. • We have followed up meetings conducted with all the host companies to ask for feedback in order to identify areas which need improvement. We received very positive feedback from the host companies regarding our coordination and monitoring of students. Apart from ADNOC’s affiliates, students were sent to the following industrial partners of ADNOC Group, including two overseas companies: 1. TOTAL UAE 2. Yokogawa UAE 3. Emerson UAE 4. Partex Portugal 5. Moreover, the department plans to further enhance its services and operations for the continual improvement of our students’ prospects. 108
A year of transformation, growth and success Student Affairs Division Dr. Sami Ainane, Dean The Student Affairs Division plays a vital role in the life of the Petroleum Institute through the planning, arranging, and conducting of a range of social, cultural, recreational and athletic activities. The Student Affairs Division believes that students at ease in their surroundings have a stronger desire to achieve their goals, and this core belief helps us to enable these young men and women to find a more significant role in the PI community and a more meaningful future beyond. of Student Support, Student One Stop Shop (SOS), Resident Life, Recreation and Athletics.
