If the tomato leafminer is detected, PPQ personnel will produce a site-specific<br />
action plan based on the guidelines. As the program develops and new<br />
information becomes available, the guidelines will be updated.<br />

The guidelines is intended as a field reference for the following users who have<br />
been assigned responsibilities for a plant health emergency for Tuta absoluta:<br />
◆ PPQ personnel<br />
◆ Emergency response coordinators<br />
◆ State agriculture department personnel<br />
◆ Others concerned with developing local survey or control programs<br />
Contacts<br />
When an emergency program for Tuta absoluta has been implemented, the<br />
success of the program depends on the cooperation, assistance, and<br />
understanding of other involved groups. The appropriate liaison and<br />
information officers should distribute news of the program’s progress and<br />
developments to interested groups, including the following:<br />
◆ Other Federal, State, county, and municipal agricultural officials<br />
◆ Grower groups such as specific commodity or industry groups<br />
◆ Commercial interests<br />
◆ Academic entities with agricultural interests<br />
◆ Land Grant universities and Cooperative Extension Services<br />
