5. Kokkuvõte 5. Summary
seisundi rikkumisest tingitud kalastiku rahuldav või
kohati isegi halb seisund.
Viru-Peipsi piirkonna rannikumeri jaguneb kaheks
tüübiks – oligohaliinne Narva laht ja mesohaliinne
Soome lahe lääneosa. Kokkuvõtteks võib olemasolevate
andmete põhjal tõdeda, et Viru rannikumere
ökoloogiline seisund on hea ja rahuldava
piiril, kusjuures enamus hinnanguid annab tulemuseks
hea kvaliteediklassi.
Koostöös Prantsuse Geoloogiateenistuse ekspertidega
on Viru-Peipsi piirkonna põhjavesi jagatud
13 põhjaveekogumiks. Kõik põhjaveekogumid
peale Ida-Viru põlevkivibasseini Ordoviitsiumi
põhjaveekogumi on heas keemilises ja kvantitatiivses
seisundis. Ida-Viru põlevkivibasseini Ordoviitsiumi
põhjaveekogumi hea seisundi saavutamine
ei ole lähema paarikümne aasta jooksul võimalik.
Kõik põhjaveekogumid, välja arvatud Ordoviitsiumi-Kambriumi
põhjaveekogum ja Siluri-Ordoviitsiumi
põhjaveekogum Devoni kihtide all,
kuuluvad nn „riskigruppi“. See tähendab, et heale
seisundile vaatamata on olemas põhjaveekogumeid
mõjutavad tegurid, mis võivad nende head
seisundit tulevikus mõjutada.
34 rivers of 50 have good chemical status. The
elevated phosphorus content is the cause for bad
or moderate status in 13 rivers of 16. 28 rivers
have good ecological status. The ecological status
was classified moderate or poor for 22 rivers for
the following reasons: 10 rivers – water quality, 7
rivers – dams and land improvements, 5 rivers –
both the water quality and dams.
The good quality of water achieved through the
treatment of wastewater on the required level
and the observance of good agricultural practice
does not ensure the achievement of the good
ecological status for 12 rivers because the status
of the fish fauna is moderate or bad since the
river continuum is interrupted by dams and the
land improvement works have had adverse effect
on the physical status.
The coastal waters of Viru-Peipsi catchment area
can be divided into two types: type I – oligohaline
open coastal water (Narva Bay), and type
III – mesohaline deep coastal water (western part
of the Gulf of Finland). In summary, the existing
data suggest that the ecological status of coastal
sea in the Viru region is on the border between
good and moderate. Most of the assessments
suggest the good ecological status class.
In cooperation with the experts of the French
Geological Survey, 13 groundwater bodies were
distinguished in the region. All groundwater bodies
falling within the territory of the Viru-Peipsi
district are in a good qualitative and quantitative
status, except the Ordovician groundwater body
of Ida-Viru oil shale basin. Achievement of a good
status of the latter groundwater body is not possible
in the next few decades.
All groundwater bodies, except the Ordovician-
Cambrian groundwater body and the Silurian-Ordovician
groundwater body beneath Devonian
layers, belong to the “risk group”. This means
that regardless of their good status there exist
factors influencing the groundwater bodies and
possibly affecting their good status in future.
