TEXT 22<br />
adesa-kale yad danam<br />
apatrebhyas ca diyate<br />
asat-krtam avajnatamtat<br />
tamasam udahrtam<br />
That gift which is conferred in an improper place, time and on an<br />
undeserving person without respect and with hatred is said to be charity in the<br />
mode of ignorance.<br />
TEXT 23<br />
om tat sad iti nirdeso<br />
brahmanas tri-vidhah smrtah<br />
brahmanas tena vedas ca<br />
yajnas ca vihitah pura<br />
The three words ´Om, Tat and Sat´ are mentioned in the scriptures to<br />
indicate Brahman, since the inception of this creation. Brahmins utter these<br />
words to chant Vedic hymns and while perform sacrifices, in order to please the<br />
Supreme Lord.<br />
TEXT 24<br />
tasmad om ity udahrtya<br />
yajna-dana-tapah-kriyah<br />
pravartante vidhanoktah<br />
satatam brahma-vadinam<br />
Therefore, in order to attain the Supreme Lord, the transcendentalists<br />
perform their sacrifices, charities and austerities with utterance of the word<br />
´Om´.<br />
TEXT 25<br />
tad ity anabhisandhaya<br />
phalam yajna-tapah-kriyah<br />
dana-kriyas ca vividhah<br />
kriyante moksa-kanksibhih<br />
Various rites of sacrifices, austerities and charities should be performed<br />
with utterance of the word ´Tat´. The purpose of these pious activities is to<br />
become free from the bondage of material nature.<br />
TEXT 26<br />
sad-bhave sadhu-bhave ca<br />
sad ity etat prayujyate<br />
prasaste karmani tatha<br />
sac-chabdah partha yujyate<br />
O son of Prutha, the word ´Sat´ (eternity) refers to Brahman, to the<br />
worshippers of Brahman, and also to the divine activities done in honour of<br />
them.<br />
