TEXT 5<br />
yat sankhyaih prapyate sthanam<br />
tad yogair api gamyate<br />
ekam sankhyam ca yogam ca<br />
yah pasyati sa pasyati<br />
That goal which is attained by mere renunciation is also attainable by<br />
devotional service. He who recognises both renunciation and devotional service<br />
as one, sees things as they are.<br />
TEXT 6<br />
sannyasas tu maha-baho<br />
duhkham aptum ayogatah<br />
yoga-yukto munir brahma<br />
na cirenadhigacchati<br />
One cannot become happy only by renunciating his activities unless he is<br />
engaged in the devotional service of the Lord. Being engaged in the service of<br />
the Lord, the sages become pure and attain the Supreme Lord forthwith<br />
TEXT 7<br />
yoga-yukto visuddhatma<br />
vijitatmajitendriyah<br />
sarva-bhutatma-bhutatma<br />
kurvann api na lipyate<br />
A wise man engaged in devotional service of the Supreme Lord possesses<br />
pure intelligence, pure mind and self control, and is dear to all and all are dear<br />
to him. Even performing various activities, he is not entangled in them.<br />
TEXT 8-9<br />
naiva kincit karomiti<br />
yukto manyeta tattva-vit<br />
pasyan srnvan sprsanjighrann<br />
asnan gacchan svapan svasan<br />
pralapan visrjan grhnann<br />
unmisan nimisann api<br />
indriyanindriyarthesu<br />
vartanta iti dharayan<br />
"I do nothing at all" thinks the man of unattached action, knowing the<br />
truth, for in seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, tasting, walking, breathing and<br />
sleeping, speaking, grasping, releasing, in opening and closing his eyes, he is<br />
convinced that it is the action of the senses.<br />

brahmany adhaya karmani<br />
sangam tyaktva karoti yah<br />
lipyate na sa papena<br />
padma-patram ivambhasa<br />
He who acts without attachment, dedicating his actions to the Supreme<br />
