jiva-bhutam maha-baho<br />
yayedam dharyate jagat<br />
O Mighty-armed Arjuna, besides My external energy(Apara Prakruti), I<br />
have another energy known as Jiva-potency which is superior to My external<br />
energy. All living entities come of this superior potency.<br />
TEXT 6<br />
etad-yonini bhutani<br />
sarvanity upadharaya<br />
aham krtsnas ya jagatah<br />
prabhavah pralayas tatha<br />
All the sentient and insentient worlds emanate from these two potencies<br />
of Mine. Hence, I am the root cause of creation and destruction of this world.<br />
TEXT 7<br />
mattah parataram nanyat<br />
kincid asti dhananjaya<br />
mayi sarvam idam protam<br />
sutre mani-gana iva<br />
O Dhananjaya, there is none greater than I. All the universes exist in Me,<br />
as gems are strung on a thread.<br />
TEXT 8<br />
raso 'ham apsu kaunteya<br />
prabhasmi sasi-suryayoh<br />
pranavah sarva-vedesu<br />
sabdah khe paurusam nrsu<br />
O son of Kunti, I am the taste of water, the light of the Sun and the Moon,<br />
the syllable 'Om' of all Vedas, the sound in the ether and the virility in mankind.<br />
TEXT 9<br />
punyo gandhah prthivyam ca<br />
tejas casmi vibhavasau<br />
jivanam sarva-bhutesu<br />
tapas casmi tapasvisu<br />
I am the sanctified fragrance of the earth, the heat of the Sun and fire,<br />
the life of all living entities and the penances of the ascetics.<br />
TEXT 10<br />
bijam mam sarva-bhutanam<br />
viddhi partha sanatanam<br />
buddhir buddhimatam asmi<br />
tejas tejasvinam aham<br />
O Partha, know Me that I am the eternal seed of all elements, the<br />
intelligence of the intelligent and the prowess of the powerful.<br />
