'By this shall you multiply. This shall be the Kamadhenu which will yield you the<br />

TEXT 11<br />
devan bhavayatanena<br />
te deva bhavayantu vah<br />
parasparam bhavayantah<br />
sreyah param avapsyatha<br />
With this shall you cherish the gods, and the gods will cherish you. Thus<br />
cherishing one another you will obtain the highest good.<br />
TEXT 12<br />
istan bhogan hi vo deva<br />
dasyante yajna-bhavitah<br />
tair dattan apradayaibhyo<br />
yo bhunkte stena eva sah<br />
Being cherished by the sacrifice, the demigods will grant you the<br />
pleasures you desire He is verily a thief who enjoys the gifts of the demigods<br />
without offering them anything in return.<br />
TEXT 13<br />
yajna-sistasinah santo<br />
mucyante sarva-kilbisaih<br />
bhunjate te tv agham papa<br />
ye pacanty atma-karanat<br />
Righteous persons who eat the remnants of sacrifices are freed from all<br />
sorts of sins. But those are sinners and eat sin, who cook for their ownself.<br />
TEXT 14<br />
annad bhavanti bhutani<br />
parjanyad anna-sambhavah<br />
yajnad bhavati parjanyo<br />
yajnah karma-samudbhavah<br />
All living entities subsist on food, food is produced from rain, rain comes<br />
from sacrifice and sacrifice is sprung of work.<br />
TEXT 15<br />
karma brahmodbhavam viddhi<br />
brahmaksara-samudbhavam<br />
tasmat sarva-gatam brahma<br />
nityam yajne pratisthitam<br />
Know that work is enjoined in the Vedas and the Vedas spring from the<br />
Absolute. Hence the All-pervading Absolute is eternally situated in sacrificial<br />
acts.<br />
