Remedy Actions
1. Create awareness amongst villagers;
2. Promote community based mangrove replanting programmes;
3. Promote community based coastal planting programmes;
4. Provide technical advice on alternative uses of mangrove and
coastal vegetation resources;
5. Strengthen legal enforcement and continuous monitoring;
6. Promote community level interventions to prevent the destruction
of mangroves and coastal vegetation;
7. Control beach sand mining;
8. Establish salt water retention barriers;
9. Declare mangrove and coastal area as a reservation area and
promote tree planting;
10.Take measures to prevent mangrove and tree cutting for security
reasons;
11. Carry out feasibility studies and plant appropriate species in
mangrove areas and coastal areas.
