Function: Enable the RIP routing process and enter the RIP mode; the “no router rip”<br />

command closes the RIP routing protocol<br />

Default: Not running RIP route<br />

Command Mode: Global mode<br />

Usage <strong>Guide</strong>: This command is the switch for starting the RIP routing protocol which is<br />

required to be open before configuring other RIP protocol commands.<br />

Example: Enable the RIP protocol mode<br />

Switch(config)#router rip<br />

Command: send-lifetime {| duration| infinite}<br />

Function: Use this command to specify a key on the keychain as the time period of<br />

sending keys. The “no send-lifetime” cancels this configuration.<br />

Parameter: parameter specifies the starting time of the time period, which<br />
