Function: Specify the key id and value of MD5 authentication on the interface; the “no ip<br />

ospf [] message-digest-key “ restores the default value<br />

Parameter: is the interface IP address show in dotted decimal<br />

notation; ranges between 1-255; is the OSPF key.<br />

Default: MD5 key not configured<br />

Command Mode: Interface Mode<br />

Usage <strong>Guide</strong>: MD5 key encrypted authentication is used for ensure the safety between<br />

the OSPF routers on the network. Same key id and key should be configured between<br />

neighbors when using this command or else no adjacent relationship will not be created.<br />

The last configuration of this command will overwrite the previous one to prevent the<br />

system from communicating with the former key id.<br />

Example:<br />

Switch#config terminal<br />

Switch(config)#interface vlan 1<br />

Switch(Config-if-Vlan1)#ip ospf message-digest-key 2 MD5 yourpassword<br />

17.6.3.24 ip ospf mtu<br />

Command: ip ospf mtu <br />

no ip ospf mtu<br />

Function: Specify the mtu value of the interface as the OSPF group structure according;<br />

the “no ip ospf mtu” command restores the default value.<br />

Parameter: is the interface mtu value ranging between 576~65535.<br />

Default: Use the interface mtu acquired from the kernel.<br />

Command Mode: Interface Mode<br />

Usage <strong>Guide</strong>: The interface value configured by this command is only used by OSPF<br />

protocol other than updated into kernel.<br />

Example:<br />

Switch#config terminal<br />

Switch(config)#interface vlan 1<br />

Switch(Config-if-Vlan1)#ip ospf mtu 1480<br />

17.6.3.25 ip ospf mtu-ignore<br />

Command: ip ospf mtu-ignore<br />

no ip ospf mtu-ignore<br />

Function: Use this command so that the mtu size is not checked when switching DD;<br />

the “no ip ospf mtu-ignore” will ensure the mtu size check when<br />

performing DD switch<br />

Parameter: is the interface IP address show in dotted decimal<br />
