Command: ip pim exclude-genid<br />

no ip pim exclude-genid<br />

Function: This command makes the Hello packets sent by PIM SM do not include GenId<br />

option. The “no ipv6 pim exclude-genid” command restores the default value<br />

Parameter: None<br />

Default: The Hello packets include GenId option.<br />

Command Mode: Interface Configuration Mode<br />

Usage <strong>Guide</strong>: This command is used to interact with older Cisco IOS version.<br />

Example: Configure the Hello packets sent by the switch do not include GenId option.<br />

Switch (Config-if-Vlan1)#ip pim exclude-genid<br />

20.3.3.6 ip pim hello-holdtime<br />

Command: ip pim hello-holdtime <br />

no ip pim hello-holdtime<br />

Function: Configure or disable the Holdtime option in the Hello packets, this value is to<br />

describe neighbor holdtime,if the switch hasn’t received the neighbor hello packets when<br />

the holdtime is over, this neighbor is deleted. The “no ip pim hello-holdtime” command<br />

cancels configured holdtime value and restores default value.<br />

Parameter: is the value of holdtime.<br />

Default: The default value of Holdtime is 3.5*Hello_interval, Hello_interval’s default value<br />

is 30s,so Hold time’s default value is 105s.<br />

Command Mode: Interface Configuration Mode<br />

Usage <strong>Guide</strong>: If this value is not configured, hellotime’s default value is<br />

3.5*Hello_interval. If the configured holdtime is less than the current hello_interval , this<br />

configuration is denied. Every time hello_interval is updated, the Hello_holdtime will<br />

update according to the following rules: If hello_holdtime is not configured or<br />

hello_holdtime is configured but less than current hello_interval,hello_holdtime is<br />

modified to 3.5*hello_interval, otherwise the configured value is maintained.<br />

Example: Configure vlan1’s Hello Holdtime<br />

Switch (Config)# interface vlan1<br />

Switch (Config -if-Vlan1)#ip pim hello-holdtime 10<br />

Switch (Config -if-Vlan1)#<br />

20.3.3.7 ip pim hello-interval<br />

Command: ip pim hello-interval <br />

no ip pim hello-interval<br />

Function: Configure the interface’s hello_interval of pim hello packets. The “no ip pim<br />
